Club Suspension
Most of you are probably aware that MB&GFC was suspended by the
Berks & Bucks FA over the weekend of 29/30th October. The
suspension was imposed because of the non-payment of a fine received
by one of our players for a yellow card. The club became aware of
the non-payment and impending suspension 2 days before the Friday
deadline set by the FA. We posted a cheque to the FA using the
Royal Mail's guaranteed next-day delivery service, so that the FA
would receive the money on Friday 28th in time to lift the
suspension for the weekend.
Unfortunately, the Royal Mail failed to meet its
next-day guarantee and attempted to deliver our
payment on the Saturday, when the FA office is closed, so the
suspension stayed in force.
The FA have acknowledged to us that we made every
effort to meet their deadline and have said that the
leagues we play in should allow us to re-schedule any
matches which had to be cancelled.
It may seem unfair that the whole club is suspended
over something which relates to one individual, but
those are their rules and we cannot change that.
We would like to remind everyone that MB&GFC is NOT responsible for
paying FA fines incurred by players, managers or spectators. It is
the responsibility of the individual concerned to pay the fine
within the deadline imposed by the FA.
The club is now reviewing its procedures to make sure that this kind
of situation does that happen again.

This new team play 7aside
fixed venue in Keddermister Park, Slough Saturday mornings and all
the tournaments they played in the summer have set them off to a
good start. The squad of 11 players is: Stephanie Paxton,
Katherine Powell, Daisy Green, Ellie James, Lisa Hibbitt, Sophie
Nancarrow, Nicola Hoyle, Megan Taylor, Annie Jones, Sammy Nazif and
Tash Astle. In a league of 6 teams they have won 3, drawn 2 and
only lost once and that was to the top team on the first day of the
season.
