The Club would like to wish all its players, managers and their families a fun-filled Christmas as well as a Happy and Successful 2007, both on and off the pitch.

U9/U8 Girls – News

Playing their first season of football in a division of 6 teams in girls division at Palmer Park on Saturdays.  Team are U9s: Beccy Collins, Abigail Dow, Emily Boycott, Lilly Harris, Laura Palfrey, Katie Evans, Georgina Hill and Captain Kirsty Matthews, with U8s: cousins Mollie and Lauren Bagshaw.  Top of league having won 10 games out of 11 and scored 43 goals, conceding only 4. We beat closest rivals South Reading Vixens 1-0 but then lost 3-0 to them when our ace defender Abigail was unavailable, but have 2 more encounters with them this season to try and put that right.  So far 7 out of 10 girls have scored as follows in the league:  Laura Palfrey 18, Kirsty Matthews 10, Katie Evans 7 (+1 in abandoned match!), Georgina Hill 3, Abigail Dow 2, Lilly Harris 2, Mollie Bagshaw 1.  Katie & Georgina scored 1 each in cup game.  Laura and Katie have also taken turns in goal and not played all games, so even more impressive!

 

What a Wet Weekend that was!

The weekend that the U9/8 Girls game was abandoned due to thunderstorms and torrential rain, the South Chiltern Minor League only had 8 out of 109 games played!  A story which I am sure was repeated round the different leagues.  Let’s hope we don’t have too many weekends like that again so we can all get our fixtures played by the end of the season.
