CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH – FRIDAY 25TH APRIL 7.30PM AT YORK ROAD This event raised £500 to Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance, £60 to Geoff Thomas Trust. The team who won 14 - 0 under the very capable management of Sharon Astle! All injuries received by players on the night are healing nicely! Well done to Des Simmonds & Steve Carpenter for organising such an enjoyable and entertaining event. Thanks also to referee Kevin Shea ably supported by qualified referees Holly King from U17 Girls and Alex Radley from U16 Girls, and all the other volunteers and supporters.
CLUB AGM ON TUE 10TH JUNE AT STRIPES BAR 8PM & APPEAL FOR A TREASURER We are looking for a new Treasurer for 2008/9. If you have a financial background or are just good with numbers and are willing to help MB&G FC and its players then please contact Mike Smith or Kim Barao.
APPEAL FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP DEVELOP 2008/09 U7 TEAMS MB&G FC are also looking for coaches, parents or guardians to help develop the new U7 teams in the 2008/9 season. We have a minimum of 2 x U7 teams planned for 2008/9 and would like to offer more places at both U7 and U8 but we need either help in getting the teams started or adults willing to manage/coach the teams in the HICKS league, one night a week and on Saturday morning for the coming season. Once the teams are formed then parents/guardians usually step forward to help run the teams.
ENSURE YOUR TEAM IS IN OUR OWN CLUB TOURNAMENT – 5th & 6th July weekend All MB&G FC teams MUST register for the MB&G FC tournament in July and pay the entry fee. The entry fee will be returned, on request, if at least 5 hours of volunteer help is given by the team’s parents/guardians/friends and players during the tournament weekend. SO PLEASE VOLUNTEER!
U8 A won the Hicks tournament + the Boyne Hill tournament on Sunday U8 C U8 Colts lost 2 games all season and only conceded 3 goals in Division 3 of the Hicks & recently won the FC Bracknell 6 a side tournament. U11 Stingrays - Hicks Development League U11 Div 3 Runners Up (losing out by goal difference only) and Hicks Development League U11 Div 3 Cup Winners U11 Scorpions unfortunately they finished bottom of Hicks Dev League Div 4 after having to swap players around twice due to players leaving area etc. U11 Crocodiles - Hicks Development League U11 Div 5 Cup Winners U11 Sharks W&EDYL U12 Div 2 Champions & League Cup Winners doing the Double a year above themselves! Played 2 tournaments so far winning both -Penn & Tylers Green and Marlow Youth U15 Aztecs won Slough Combination Division 2, and eventually beat Magpies after 8 years of trying. U16 Boys in EBYFL did the treble by winning the League, League Cup and Berks & Bucks Cup U10 Girls (Sun) in EBYFL 2nd in league out of 7 teams in their first season U10 Girls (Sat) in SCML won league out of 8 teams and runners-up in cup U12 Girls Blue Sox in SCML came 3rd in Division 1 in league of 7 teams U12 Girls White Sox in SCML came 4th in Division 2 in league of 7 teams in their first season U16 Girls in SCML won Cup and 2nd in league of 5 teams U14 Girls in NEHYL Fantastic achievement coming 2nd out of 8 teams when so many times played with only 7 or 8 players and also had to concede games when they had fewer girls than that! U17 Girls in NEHYL won league of 4 teams and were runners-up in Cup Final Youth in Allied Counties finished 3rd in Central Div and also reached the Allied Counties Cup Final at Hayes on 12/5 losing 4-1 to the Premier League winners Northwood.
